Concrete Cube Testing
Concrete cube testing is a reliable means of testing the compressive strength of concrete to ensure that it will meet the necessary standards for the project for which it is being used.
Cube testing involves taking a sample of freshly mixed concrete and pouring it into cube-shaped moulds. These concrete cubes are then left to cure, with testing subsequently being carried out at least twice, usually at 7 and 28 days; however, this isn’t fixed and can vary depending on the project and the requirements of the customer.
When testing, concrete strength is determined by crushing the concrete and measuring the amount of newton-metres of force at which a structural failure occurs.
