As Kent’s leading suppliers of domestic and commercial ready-mix concrete, we understand that every project has its unique needs. Below, you’ll find answers to some of the common questions we receive.
Frequently Asked Questions
There are so many variables involved that it is difficult to give even a ballpark figure as an answer to this question. Every concrete mix is individually prepared with the project for which it is needed in mind, while you’ll usually get better value the more concrete you need.
If you collect your own concrete, you won’t need to pay a delivery charge, while you’ll also need to decide whether you’ll have to hire a concrete pump. We can provide a free, fast and cost-effective quote when you get in touch with all your details.
Our truck needs to get as close to the pour site as possible, even if you’ve ordered a concrete pump. If you’re in a residential area, let your neighbours know that you’ve got a concrete delivery coming, so that they won’t park in such a way that we can’t get close enough to make your delivery.
If access to your site is restricted because of narrow lanes, gates or a low bridge, let us know when you place your order and we’ll discuss what we can do to enable as efficient a delivery of your concrete as possible.
Unlike wet concrete, aggregates can’t be shifted with the assistance of a pump, so being able to get our truck as close to where your aggregates are needed as possible is even more crucial.
All access points need to be wide and high enough to allow a large tipper trucks to pass, and make sure all vehicles that might be blocking the way are parked elsewhere.
If you think access is going to cause a problem, let us know at the time you place your order and we’ll see what can be done to get around the issue.
There is no limit to the amount of concrete we can supply. However, each mixer truck can carry up to 8m³ per load. Ordering in full 8m³ loads will be more cost-effective, as the cubic metre price is cheaper for a full load. Additional loads after the first full one will still be charged at the reduced rate.
You can work out your requirements by using our concrete calculator, but to make sure you haven’t underestimated, it’s advised that you add an extra 10 or 15 per cent to be sure.
We’ll be happy to discuss your needs when you place your order and advise as to the quantity you’re likely to need. We’ll need to know the width, length and depth of the pour site, as well as whether it’s an irregular shape.
Ideally, you should plan to use the full load that’s delivered to your site. If there’s excess concrete, it’s best to have a contingency plan in place to avoid wastage. In cases where return loads are possible, we can sometimes take the excess back, but this may incur extra charges.
That’s why our handy concrete calculator is there to help you work out your requirement as precisely as possible.
Some additional costs that customers should be aware of, include:
Different construction and landscaping projects require concrete that has the right combination of strength, durability and workability, plus the ability to cope with prevailing environmental conditions.

We understand the importance of keeping to a schedule and that standing around waiting for your concrete can have a major impact on the success of your project.
That’s why your concrete delivery can usually be at a time of your choosing. If you need it urgently and we are unable to get it to you in time, you can always order ahead and collect it from our yard.
A concrete pump can enable a much faster pour and reduce levels of waste. It’s especially convenient when the pour site is in a location that’s hard to access – perhaps because it’s far away from the nearest point the delivery truck can get to, it’s in a high place or there are obstacles that are blocking the way.
You can! If you need your concrete at particularly short notice or you need less than our minimum delivery amount of one cubic metre, our concrete collection service is there for your convenience. Just let us know what you need and when you’ll be arriving at our yard to pick it up, and we’ll have it ready and waiting for you.
